shopping for a credit card

Affinity, Secured, and Student Credit Cards

An affinity program lets a group offer its members or supporters a credit card to promote its brand or cause. When members use this card, a percentage of its sales and profits goes back to the organization. Affinity credit card fees, rates, and benefits vary greatly and may make them more expensive to use.

What is a "secured" credit card?

  1. One that's guaranteed by an applicant's bank account or deposit

  2. One that can only be used for certain products

  3. One with a high balance limit

"A" is correct. Student credit cards are often secured and allow parents to monitor when purchases are made. Secure cards are helpful if you need to establish credit or improve your credit payment history.
