managing and protecting credit card

Good Credit Card Practices

When you receive your credit card, which of these practices makes sense?

  1. Think before you make charges. Always ask yourself: "Is this something I really need? Can I really afford this purchase?"

  2. Avoid impulse buys.

  3. Keep close track of your credit card purchases throughout the month.

These are ALL good credit card practices. Remember: A credit card is not the same as ready cash. Each time you use one, you are borrowing money. Don't be tempted to buy things you don't need or charge more than you can comfortably pay off at the end of the month. Carefully monitor your purchases, so you aren't hit with an unpleasant surprise when the monthly bill arrives.
