School Educators

Since 1993, Guidewell Financial has partnered with the Maryland Council on Economic Education (MCEE) and the Delaware Council on Economic Education (DCEE) to improve basic financial literacy for students and teachers in public school grades K-12. With Guidewell Financial’s input and support, these organizations develop economic curricula, present free teacher workshops and courses, provide lesson plans and classroom materials, and host interactive games and contests for youth. As a result of this partnership, over 50,000 teachers have received financial education training and resource materials and over six million students have subsequently been taught by these teachers.

Guidewell Financial also serves on MCEE’s board and is a founding member of the Maryland Coalition for Financial Literacy. The Coalition works with educational leadership groups, parents, foundations, the financial services industry, and others. Together they identify the best financial education materials for Maryland schools and help implement the state standards in personal finance education.
