The Consumer Leasing Act

The Consumer Leasing Act provides protection if you plan to lease a vehicle. Under this law, what you do have the right to know?

  1. The total amount due at signing, the monthly payment amount, and whether the car can be purchased at the end of the lease.
  2. If the car has been leased by somebody else.
  3. Where the car was manufactured and how many miles it gets per gallon of fuel.

"A" is correct. You also have the right to know the number of payments, the annual mileage allowance and per/mile charge if you go over this limit, rent and depreciation charges, the residual car value / price at the end of the lease, and the disposition fee you'll pay if you don't buy the car when the lease ends.
