Before You Sign on the Dotted Line

Once a sales contract is drawn up, read it carefully and don't be afraid to ask questions. The contract should mirror the terms to which you've agreed, and the car should include exactly the features you chose. Once you sign the contract, which is true?

  1. You can drive the vehicle for 15 days to see if it meets your expectations.
  2. You have a month to decide if you want to keep the car.
  3. You are legally bound by the contract.

"C" is correct. You cannot back out of the contract unless the dealership agrees or a law covers your reason for returning the car.
