Saving on Gas While Driving

Your personal driving habits have a big impact on how much gas you use. Which of these driving strategies can save you money and mileage?

  1. Go easy on the brakes and gas pedal.
  2. Let your engine run at least 15 minutes so that it's warmed up before driving on cold mornings.
  3. Use the air conditioner as much as possible on hot days, so that your engine is properly cooled.

"A" is correct. Jackrabbit starts and stops eat gas. So does idling or using the air conditioner. On hot days, roll down the windows and open the vents. Turn off the engine during long waits and limit car warm ups in the winter. Also get rid of any excess weight, use overdrive and cruise control, and stay below 60 miles per hour.
