Pros and Cons of Buying a New Car

Prior to car shopping, it helps to consider if you need a new or a used car. Both new and used vehicles come with benefits and drawbacks. Which of these is NOT an advantage of buying something new?

  1. New vehicles are often more reliable.
  2. The value of a new car usually depreciates slower.
  3. When you buy a new car, it's easier to customize and get exactly what you want.

"B" is correct. New cars generally lose their value faster than older ones. They also cost more -- not just in terms of price, but also to register and insure. On the positive side, new cars also often include a manufacturer's warranty that could save you money on parts and repairs for many years.
