Advice to Parents

First Things First

We all want the best for our children. But if your child didn't receive a suitable job offer before leaving school, you may be faced with serious questions: Is your child prepared to live on his/her own? Can you afford to continue your financial support? How will your family get by? Before confronting these issues, what should you do?

  1. Encourage your grad to go out and live on his/her own.
  2. Carefully review your personal budget and finances.
  3. Ask your child what he/she wants to do next.

"B" is the best answer. To make informed decisions for you and your family, you first need to know where you stand financially, especially if you've already been struggling to make ends meet. Check your budget: This will give you a better understanding of how much money you have available to help your child.
